So far today it hasn't been brilliant.
for my first birthday present I put two new tyres on the car. Nothing wrong with that and all went ok.
But
I have just renewed my insurance, actually runs out today. I changed again this year to try and keep the price down. My previous insurer, Admiral, wanted £450 odd for the privilege so I shoped around and finally went with Hastings Direct at £383. But when the paperwork came in the post I thought I'd better phone them and declare my body kit (side skirts and front and rear lips) because in the details I could see that they counted these as modifications :ohmy:
So I thought I'd declare these, it can't add much to the primium, if anything.
I was so wrong after being kept on hold fo some time while they talked to the underwriters they declared that that was going to cost me ............

hock:So as expected I said in that case I needed to cancel and I would go elsewhere. They were then very pleased to tell me that under the circumstances they wouldn't charge me the cancellation fee, which I think is about £55. Good of them :blink:
So after that bombshell and to cut an even longer story short I went back to Admiral (I had already cancelled my policy) and after declaring the "mods" and with a bit of discount given for staying with them for another year I got it down to £425.
I am really surprised that they can get away this for something that is, at the end the day, a dealer optional accessory.
