Hi folks,

I sell some widgets that need fitting instructions. They come with 'universal' instructions, but I've been asking for 'test pilots' to fit them and do a quick "How to" guide to make it even easier.

Here's a How-To I did for a Mk2 MX%:
http://www.speedview.co/forum/Thread-Ins...-1998-2000

The 'universal' instructions you get printed in the box are here:
http://www.speedview.co/downloads/SpeedV...ual_EN.pdf

Somebody suggested turning the instructions as a comic book - if a five year old can read it then anybody should be able to, right? I laughed at first, but then thought I'd give it a go using an app called Comic Life.

What do people think? Am I taking the mickey here, or would it be useful?

Do people fit parts reading instructions from a phone/laptop? Would you if they were like this? (printing is obviously a problem!)

What would you think if you saw this sort of thing in a magazine - "amateur product," "lol," "makes fitting it easy" etc. Feedback welcome!

That's one of the best how to guides I've ever read! I wish mine were that good lol

I hope your guides say to solder & heatshrink where possible and only to use scotchlocks as a last resort Wink

That'll be a 'yes' all round then. Smile

Here's the software; dead easy to use. I am no artist. Free 30 day trial too:

Scotchlocks are the default instruction. For low-current stuff that isn't exposed to outdoor grime, heat, vibration, much, and bullets they're ok - and the 'safest' option for complete newbies. (worst case, the accessory stops working)

Those who know better will ignore the instructions and solder/heatshrink or crimp/solder/heatshrink (not solder/crimp/heatshrink though, this is bad as solder shrinks and the crimp releases) without me needing to say a word. Wink

Your threads are pretty good. Only criticism is that they're ****** long and interesting, so eat up a chunk of my life LOL. Don't know squat about Toyota V8s or RX7s so have kept stum but it makes interesting reading! RX8s are soooo cheap (and have a decent chassis/nice big engine bay) these days its sorely tempting. :-o

(even somethign like an S-Type V6/manual box would go nicely)
