A Few questions for all you turbo guys out there...
You need to know the rpm the charger spins at, I think that's the green lines, then go across from 1.3 (the charger boost in atmospheric) and that souls tell you the flow I think
If you find the rpm of the charger at max on the IS I assume that's tte will have set that to be in the optimum area. So draw a line up from the rpm and across from the boost till they meet (the rpm lineis at a slight angle) then back straight down from where they meet is the flow.
Then find that flow on the turbo (you'll have to convert from m3/hr to ft/min) go up to the optimum area, then across to find your optimum boost for the same low as the charger.
In theory that should all work.
Lexuspat I'm lost but I like the idea you've got going
I found this really good guide on how to read compressor maps, I've had a read through and have worked out what he means about making sure you're in the max efficiency zone as much as possible, and making sure you won't get any surge etc.
But I have no idea how he's worked out how to place engine RPM figures on the graph!? I understand that you use a line on the y axis at the level of boost you want. The graph is marked with airflow in lb/min and pressure ratio, and I don't understand how he's working out where he can put his RPM lines on
