Lacquer/Gasing wheels
Lacquer/Gasing wheels
Hi All,
Just joined up today.
Just looking for some advice on creating a proper alloy wheel lacquer finish that is durable.
Ive recently painted some wheels and fitted to my car, but the paint job is weak and the lacquer i used wasnt so great.
When I got the tyres fitted on saturday, the tyre fitter said they need to be glased so that it provides a glass like finish. Anyone know of any product that I could use that could achieve this finish?
Look forward to any replies, much appreciated.
For something like wheels the best laquer will be a proper 2-part automotive one. Much more durable than the 1-part halfrauds stuff.
But when they say 'glassed' I can only assume they mean wet sanding it and re-coating it so you get a very smooth finish, as any surface imperfections are likely to catch dirt and debris.
paint them purple
Could do with using something like this mate, CLICK ME? The only thing with the 2k lacquer, is that you would have to put them somewhere warm so it cures properly, but it will give you a lot better gloss finish, and when cured its a lot harder :thumbup1:
