what rating is the stereo output and what rating are the speakers ?

have you checked the polarity of the wires ?

Don't know and don't know. Don't know how to check the polarity.
But knowing my luck it's something stupid that I've done haha. I'll try and have a look at them again this weekend

Stereo still cuts out when volume is turned up.

I'm just going to leave it till I get my garage up.
Then I'm going to take out stereo and get it all wired up again by someone who knows what they are doing.
