After my tuning is complete I will be looking at shedding some weight and would like to get rid of the 4electic windows and replace with good old keep fit windows. I've never done this before to any car before so unsure weather it not it's an easy job? The logic seems easy enough but never seen the working of them.

Not at all easy. I did that in a sierra when the electric ones broke - nightmare job nothing fitted or lined up. Where are you planning to get the mechanism from, and do you really think it will be that much weight saving??? Surly your better off removing all the air con junk that weighs loads, and the electric seats etc...

Haha, I thought it might be! Tbh, I haven't a clue how the mechanisms work I did to know if u could get the windy bits from any car and for the glass to the existing plate that it sits on? Haha and yeah don't worry all that will be coming out too, all speakers, seats, carpet the lot. Leaving the dash for the time being until I get chance to do it properly. Surely for elec motors on the windows will be a few kg Wink

The Soarer ones are less then 1KG - I just posted one, so no I can't see them being heavy in real terms.

It'll be like 3-4kg max saving, you won't notice that whatsoever mate. If not, still take out the regulators out the windows you don't use much and leave the door cards off so you can always put them back in

Il probably just leave them in to be honest, if it was easy to do it would of been cool to have 4keep fit windows but definitely sounds like it's a lot of hastle just for that.
