New Toyota FT-86 (new Celica ?)
Went and played with the one at Aylesbury today. Couldn't take it out as someone else was booked in but I can confirm it's a very nice place to sit and rev the engine while stationary lol :thumbup1: Doesn't sound like a Yaris, but there's no burble - all the noise is induction. The interior seems to mostly be lifted from the top end Verso, same red w/black stitching everywhere. FWIW I don't think that's a bad thing - it's not going to have a plush leather/suede/carbon fibre interior like a supercar, so it might as well have a tried and tested decent interior from a high spec Toyota. It's certainly MUCH nicer than the interior in an MR2, MKIV Supra, etc.
The car doesn't quite have the right Toyota touchscreen system in it yet (no satnav for example) but that's apparently just the case with the demonstrators. As a result the bluetooth mic and the alarm ultrasonics all look a bit stuck on. This one was auto with all the toys.
Want to take it out for a spin next.
Fk knows what they were thinking putting that rear spoiler on the UK spec cars though, it's hideous. I think I'd rather have it with no spoiler at all!
While this is the initial demonstrator which is auto (MK have a white one the same spec) they will be having 3 or 4 forecourt models, so the car won't just be on backorder.
I had a sit in one the other day. Kinda reminded me of sitting in a cayman. Which lets be honest is a good thing. I quite liked the interior, understated would best describe it. I'm booked in for a test drive first thing on saturday morning, and judging by the weather forecast it's gonna be raining. perfect for testing in
