Had the engine light come on yesterday with flashing trc got the code read roud the corner at nates garage it came up

1635523933.0 type 7001

ive tried google but not come up with anything

Assuming it is an IS200, what sort of code reader was used ? That doesn't sound like a normal OBD-II code, it should be something like Pxxxx.

Does the car seem down on power/mis-firing ?

Which TRC light is flashing, is it the one with the pic of the car skidding, or the "TRC OFF" light ? Could be a coil pack.

yep is200 car is running fine it was a bosch machine so not sure

it was the TRC OFF

If it is a coil pack, it can be harder to notice on the IS200 given it's a 6-cylinder engine and is very smooth.

You could do with trying to get the proper OBD-II fault code though. Presumably the engine management light is on ?

TRC OFF flashing shows there's a problem with the TRC area. But this can be caused by a coil pack too.

ok mate its gone now i want to get an obd2 scanner my self which one would you recomend i was looking at the elm327 linky

I've got a standalone reader since I don't have a laptop. Some of the other guys will be able to help you out with USB cables etc.

Especially if it's intermittent, I think it's quite likely to be a coil pack. You'll need the codes though to confirm that and to start narrowing down which one it is, if that is indeed the problem. An actual TRC/ABS problem is possible though less likely IMHO.
