Another Triumph Stag
Another Triumph Stag
Hi,
Lovely hot day yesterday, so please excuse some topless pics
Todays task was to only work on the paintwork of this Triumph Stag. The owner has performed an extensive rebuild of this car by himself. It was resprayed last Christmas, and the owner knew this could have been done better, but the car was still very respectable and certainly a credit to him.
It was covered on every panel in machine buffer marks and a lot of paint defects including heavy swirls and orangle peel. Ideally it would need wet sanding prior to machining to properly rectify this. As that wasnt the task, i proceeded to see what could be achieved today.
This was the car after being clayed and a 2 bucket method wash
These were the defects shown in sunlight
Under led and halogen light
After 2 hits using menzerna 106fa and a 3m polishing pad, i realised the paint was also extremely hard, this was achieved
I then changed to menzerna rd 3.02, still on the 3m pad and the whole car was done like this. There were still very faint scratches here and there but the overall finish was massively improved.
After that i changed to a 3m finishing pad and used menzerna 85rd which really added some fantastic gloss. Lime prime lite was applied by hand after a wipe down with Top Inspection. For wax, 1 application of collinite 476s was applied. Poorboys wheel sealant and Endurance tyre gel. Tomorrow morning the car will have a wipe down with zaino z8 before collection, so the below photos have not got this applied.
These were todays final pics
Thanks for looking
Christian
All I can say is Show Off
Marsdendean Another goood result.
Would i need to book the car in for a stage 2 to try and get rid of orange peel effect? Also, do you normally leave chips in the paintwork, as i assume you can't get rid of them??

Bandit Very nice mate, out of curiosity what would you rather detail? Classic or newer models? :thumbup1:
