IS Radio Mute Wire
IS Radio Mute Wire
Hi all,
question as above- I have a bluetooth sat nav built in, but I want to add/use a standalone one.
Can anyone tell me if / what the colour of the wire for the radio mute is?
(I've had a search here, and over the other one and wanted a definative answer).
Thanks.
J
It's a red wire with white stripe.
But it's on the amp loom to the standard satnav not the stereo itself.
If you don't have standard satnav it annoy be there. But it's wire 13 in the same plug as the speaker wires.
Sparkystav It's a red wire with white stripe.

Right, did you have standard satnav before?
If not be wire may not be in the plug.
But if you look on the plug to the amp that the speakers wires are in (the same plug you attach to the amp bypass lead) there will be a gap. Thisis where that wire should be so fit one into the plug and it would work as a mute wire.
Cheers bud, sort of understand!!
Never had factory fit nav, but fitted a sony unit in a housing..
Was stated on LOC its straight out of he multiplug on the radio that it is:
Pin Number - Colour (Solid/strip/bar) - function
•1 - No connection
•2 - white/none//silver x2
•3 - green/none/silver x 2
•4 - blue/orange/sliver (but may look green/brown/silver) - MUTE
•5 - No connection
•6 - red/blue/silver x 2
•7 - No connection
•8 - blue/white/silver
•9 - green/none/silver
•10 - blue/yellow/silver - Const +12V
•11 - grey/white/silver - Acc +12V
•12 - green/white/none
I'm a bit confused. Do you still have the standard stereo?
The wire your after is from the amp by the glovebox
