Little write up on the evolution of my car
Little write up on the evolution of my car
Right that's it then, it's coming off and getting ground down, see if I can make it fit better. Will update as I go.
Started a little proactive welding as well.
It's not great but I can only get better, made myself a little cart for holding my spare engine,
Basically created a frame around a spare sump I had and built it from there, frees up my engine stand though.
Think you better get some glasses stav , that welding is shocking :p
I know mate, but its a start, I'll get better with practice.
Indeed, practice and you may one day be as good as me lol.
Well my week off is pretty much done so I've got a few updates:
I've finished removing all the wiring in the engine bay:
When I started
Partly through
Nearly there
Job done!
Just going to weld a small plate over that tiny loom to finish it off.
The engine wiring is also redone and tucked away, it all goes to a military plug on the bulkhead, nice and clean. You can see it on the last pic, I'm going to weld a panel in that hole and the plug will stick though it.
Some more welding to mock, the new powersteering tank position under the wing.
Some people fit them with the cap pointing up through the wing, but I've decided to leave it hidden as you very rarely top up ps fluid.
New oil cooler mount:
Because of the size of the intercooler I had to loose the standard bonnet catch, perfect excuse to fit aero catches.
Had to mount them that way round so the pin goes through the bar just above the headlights.
As some of you saw at Jae, the flip flop boot looks awesome but was flimsy on the standard hinges. So I welded a bar across to join the hinges, much more stable and usable now.
Began the piping for the direct port nitrous, not hugely pretty but functional and will be replace with neater pipework in the future. just need to do the 6th fogger when it arrives. I had to buy a new one from the US.
Redid the gear surround with the boost controller and kill switches
Shiny new fuel pump and filter on dual mount
And finally the gauge holder, not quite finished but the square space will hold my digital traction control adjuster
And that's it. Not as much as I imagined I'd get done but I'm getting there.
Figured out the new water system as well so will finish that next and once the little panels welded in with the wiring I can respray the engine bay and put the engine back in.
