when the cvt box is in paddle mode ie manual it has the feeling of seven forward gears...
i like the new cvt box......and thats coming from a person who hates autos!!

it WILL BE A CVT BOX!!...........that is the only auto type box going to be fitted in to toyotas range of cars apart from the aygo..the smt was a shocking box we had nothing but complaints about that box..

Second video on the 86 on this link, 10min 15secs in clearly states IS-F derived 6 speed auto - which probably means it locks up the TC beyond first like the IS-Fs does.

What's with all the fragmentation? 86 in Japan, GT86 over here, Scion something or other in the US - to create an icon surely it should be the same everywhere!

im going to have too look out all the notes on this car again as if the above is correct then the notes we are getting are all wrong...once ive been on the course i'll know better...

18-10-2018, 12:04 PM #105Scion in the USA is aimed at the younger Toyota buyers, currently they have little apart from the Tc, so this fits in with the range. The main Toyota brand is very much family and "green" orientated, the GT86 would not suite the brand.
