Hey as always thanks for the assistance guys, the work on the Lex is slow going and much of it is under the skin rather than obvious stuff but at least its happening. I have updated my "build thread with the work done so far.

Hey Guys and Gals, had a question for Stav or Rabster...

The wiring issue is now sorted and everything is working as it should behind the dash, the issue i'm having now is the cigarette lighter socket, i'm getting +12V from it but when i put a usb charger in it they blow and i can't tell why so was wondering maybe i'm getting too much amps could one of you tell me what the socket should be supplying in volts and amps, perhaps even suggest what could be causing the chargers to blow?

P.S.: in case you were wondering the lighter itself actually works perfectly, at first i thought it was the polarity of the wiring but i tried it both ways and it still happens.

Thanks in advance.

The socket is 12v, but doesn't supply a certain amount of amps it supplies what the device plugged into asks for, upto 10a (the fuse rating).

Have you tried a different charger? It could be that one.
