Another vote for the panasonic TZ range BUT be aware that on some models you can not zoom in whilst using video... which is absolute pants.

right then...hope these come out ok. these are all taken using the TZ3, which I got when it first came out so is a couple of years old now but still an amazing camera. I bet the TZ10 is well worth the money. Personally though I wouldnt get a refurb one like the one u found on ebay and also it seems like some kinda import with it having a different model number so look for the proper UK ones, they tend to be made in Japan either way.
