Should I be worried at all...
Mine does it more often than that, more so that I don't really notice it anymore. I'll try and pay attention to it and see how often if does it.
Off the top of my head I think it's something that happens more when the A/C is working hard (in hot weather).
Hmm I cant recall whether I had my AC on or not. Certainly wasn't a hot day, but I do often have it on to prevent the windows from steaming up.
It is weird tho, because I cant say that even when I move from Park to Reverse/Drive and the idle drops from 2000rpm to ~600rpm I feel any change in the brake pedal. So probably not directly related to idle turnover?
Yep it's not related to the idle itself, I think something changes while stationary that increases the load on the engine which makes the idle drop (and somehow also affects the brake servo I imagine).
Our Merc does even weirder stuff like you can hear what sounds like a motor whirring when stationary occasionally so no idea what these cars do while they're sitting still!
Fry-Up ah yours idles at 2000 rpm too, I was always curious as that seems high and my 200 didn't idle that high even when cold, but my 300 does for a minut when first started

Try and see if you can figure out what might be on, or coming on, when it happens. e.g. the radiator fans kicking in (might be tricky to hear), if the a/c is on, etc.
Its to do with the brake servo and the engine idle, cant remember exactly but 2Tongues had an issue when he boosted his with it breaking through the boost, though mines been fine
That was TGT putting a "+" air pressure through a vacuum part of the breaks - something they really shouldn't have done as thats dangerous.
yea but James didn't know that. Honestly that was news to him.
calls himself an expert pahhh.
