Rabster what you fitting mate.....

jimxms Guys,

I'm wiring up my wideband at the moment and after realising that the o2 sensor comes up through the drivers side seat I've had to change my plans on where to put it.

I'm now going to mount it behind the drivers footwell, but I need to know a place I can pick up IGN and GND from.

Rabster what you fitting mate.....

^^ What Stav said.

But yeah, its been one HELL of a day.

Started off yesterday night by installing my little DM-100 display on the drivers side of the dash and routing the rather large and annoying VGA style plug over to the passenger side. The plan was to install everything behind the glove box because I'd been told by several sources that the grommet for the existing o2 sensor was under the passenger seat.

This morning I removed the passenger seat so that I could begin routing the wires for the bosh sensor, only to find a distinct lack of a rubber grommet Sad
So I put the passenger seat back in, pulled the drivers seat out and whaddyaknow the grommet for the o2 sensor on the IS300 is on the drivers side!

So I passed the wire for the bosh wideband sensor through the hole, then went down to a local exhaust place to get the sensor welded in place.

Once that was done, I came back and began hooking everything up. Unfortunately due to the immense mass of wires, and not being able to find a ground source it took much longer than I was expecting.

What took even longer though was finding a place to stash 4 little boxes. As they are all hooked up in a token ring fashion they cant be too far apart from eachother. So I stuck them all together with some really strong tape and zip tied them to the air vent in the foot well.

But, hey ho at least its all done now. I've got sensors for boost, air intake temp and afr all installed ready for when the supercharger comes Smile

Deffo. Though I could do without the Mrs giving me the "are you sure you know what you're doing" speech every time the car is in parts

(especially when the answer is "no, I have no f***ing idea". I only started tinkering with cars 6 months ago!)

Heh I've built the odd PC in my time too Jim, but in my experience it was essentially more assembly of parts than massively scary wiring

I'm in software testing - software I can handle far better than hardware! Always gives Ormi a laugh when I tell him how long carrying out any modification took me, usually cos it's 10 - 15 times as long as it would take him...

I'd love to come along, but I've got prior engagements unfortunately (and a very early start on Monday morning)
