E55EX_RACER Nikon 55-200 @ 200mm
ISO200
Not sure of the shutter speed but pretty fast, will check when I get home. It's a 100% crop and sharpened slightly.
Marsdendean These pictures are one of the main reasons i need to get a DSLR rather than my point and shoot.
I always thought that my P&S gave good results but yours are great ! (along with Patricks bandits and a few others!!)

E55EX_RACER To be fair it's not all about the camera but rather the person holding it. I've seen some awesome images from pro's taken with compacts. Although a DSLR does give you alot more flexibility over how the photos are taken. Just a shame it's an expensive hobby and I've only touched the surface with the gear I have!

i have a simple DSLR a sony A200 with only the single lense 18-70 but some of the pics i can get look really good. They run a basic course for people wanting to get better at photography near me so might have to get myself on there but here are a few random pics that i think look really good
i love the last one it was a bouncy castle we got our daughter on her 4th birthday
parthiban Very true, but I'd have to say also that even using a DSLR on full auto as a point and shoot will give a novice far better results than any compact will - obviously you're not necessarily using it to its full potential but you're still getting great photos.

Phil01 Nice pics as well Pat,
I love the way with a DSLR you can take a pic like the butterfly that is in focus and everything else is not, less Depth of field, draws your eye to the main subject
