Picked up all my bits yesterday from the body shop

Done a great job on them.

So as I had a morning free today and as a special treat for fathers day I decided to fit the front lip and the rear skirt.

Front Lip............

and before you all say it, I know I need a bigger sorst now :Sulk:

Just got the side skirts to fit now.

I took loads of photos while doing this and think I might do a walk through for each one. What do you think? Would this be useful?

Help.

I tried to fit my side skirts tonight but it turned out to be a bit of a disaster.

I tried sticking them on with some VHB trim tape that Gord gave me but I found it just wouldn't stick. I stuck a length of it along the top lip where the skirt touches the sill and along the bottom where it fits up to the under side of the sill. I found that first of all after sticking the tape to the plastic skirt trying to remove the backing tape was near impossible without pulling the whole tape off the skirt. After ages messing about and finally offering it up to the car I just couldn't get it to stick to the sill, the top was sticking in places but underneath it just would not stick.

I'm not sure whether this tape is the right one, I'm sure it's what Gord has used before otherwise he wouldn't of given it to me (very good of him to let me have it) or perhaps it's just been hanging around for a long time and lost it's stick.

The funny thing is there was a short bit of tape already stuck on the skirt at the front where it goes up the front wing a bit and this bit of tape stuck like sheet to a blanket but this was different it had like a sponge backing. Is this the type of tape I should be using.

Looking on eBay I can see there are two types of this tape the one I have which seems to be referred to as 'Gel Tape' and another type that is more like the bit that came with the side skirt i.e. with a sponge backing.

any help/advise would be much appreciated.

Yes it is mate, it's like a clear gel with a red plastic backing that you peel off.

Ok thanks, I'm wondering whether it's just passed it's sell-by date. How long ago did you give it to Gord?

I think I will just get a new roll off eBay, I know I'll have to wait now before fitting my side skirts but there's no point in rushing these things, I want it to be right.
