i sense a dragon theme with you Chris? :p that R1 is stunning pure porn, my bro bought his 748 straight after he passed his test and didn't need to run any restrictors and he's 25 so I think Aaron will be fine.

iirc the restrictor only needs to be applied to riders with less than 2 years riding experience and that are under the age of 21, anyone over 21 can ride what they like.

aaronabbott im still considdering the restricted course:wink:

Could be an option mate, i know most of the guys round here did it and most had the restrictor kit fitted for a day or 2 then removed it as they wanted full power  but most insurance companys require the cert for the kit being fitted so you may aswell put the money for the kit towards your insurance? :thumbup1:

@Dan, yes mate always liked dragons Big Grin i put one on the skyline engine cover as it looks like a big S for skyline Big Grin

dan_harris restrictors are like cutting a bikes genitals off Sad

thats the reason why id rather go down the direct access route, having a 150/170 bhp bike and limiting it to 33 bhp would be so boring, but iv got the weigh all the options up first

For now you can do the CBT course and get a bike upto 11bhp, usually a 125. You can then progress towards the Direct access.

There are two ways, 1, a restricted test which as Chris mentioned allows you to ride anything upto 33bhp for 2 years then anything after that. 2, The full course which allows you to ride anything straight away.
TBH, the restricted course is not really worth it, after a few months you'll be wanting something a bit quicker anyway.
As of April this year a new 2 part test was released making it longer (supposedly safer) to pass the course.
All info can be found here

A few links for you

As for costs, CBT (which you need) will be £100 ish. Theory is £35iirc, and practical is £80.
After CBT most people will get a 125 just to get practice riding on the road, but remember the 'L' plates.

this is true, my bro really didn't hold back got a top end Arai helmet then sent it off to Richard Stevens who sprays helmets for lots of top superbike and moto GP riders - http://www.richartconcepts.co.uk/wide.html think the spray on my bro's cost around £500, here's some pics.
