new garage, then ramps needed
new garage, then ramps needed
Moley - a man after my own heart! I am currently looking to get a garage made too (not quite as big as yours however)
Ideally I would love a car lift/ramp too, but worried about the height. I have looked into building regulations and they say that I can have a building up to 4 meters high with a pitched roof.
I know you have loads more land, but did you have to apply for planning permission or can you get away with building regs?
Thanks
Anees
Well Anees we think we can play the agricultural card here , and say its for keeping farm stuff , I could even say it for keeping sheep or anything else for that matter, get it passed then just not buy said sheep etc etc neaky2:neaky2:
No thanks mate , I've been offered 20 from a farmer friend to keep my grass down but I bought a John Deere instead :kiltsmilie:
That's going to be an awesome garage! Planning on opening a branch of WIM on your drive? :w00t:
Look forward to seeing this progress
Not sure on them to be honest Patrik , they look strange the way the car sits on them
not sure if I would feel safe under a single post lifter
2 post all the way. 4 post is actually pretty useless, even with the centre jacks, as your always working round the main rails/guides. The only consideration is on foundations. For a 2 post you ideally want 18" to 24" thick as a minimum, rebarred, with long studs sunk into the pad to bolt the lift onto. 4 post you can be a bit more lenient, 18 minimum, but you can get away with anchor bolts, as the load is more evenly spread.
For height just think, you want to walk under the car. so say it needs to be 6 foot in the air. plus height of the car your looking at 10-12 foot minimum ceiling height, depending on the height of the vehicle you want to lift
