jimxms Yeah, I found it hard to believe that it's actually larger in some dimensions than the LS430! It feels much smaller to drive other than when parking as it doesn't have any parking sensors Sad

There's your next mod then :whistling:

It is weird how externally the E and S class are very similar in dimensions......

toxo Those fittings are WAY too small for a forced induction engine!!

They are smaller than OEM but I can't see why it would be a problem? I've got two running so each one is only dealing with 4cyl, and all it's doing is using vacuum from the intake (pre-supercharger) to suck out small amounts of oil from the top of the valve covers.

Over the course of 500 miles I got less than 1ml of oil.

You should never ever reduce the size of PCV vents, they're that size for a reason. I know of people who've destroyed engines as a result of putting a 4mm catch can on an engine that was designed to run with a 12mm PCV. And that was on 4 pot FI engines...

Admittedly I would expect you to have a lot less blowby on your engine than you'd see on a 3S engine!

Thats a 10mm ID to an 8mm ID. The picture makes it look a lot worse because the 10mm hose is stuff I had left over for carrying petrol/meth and has a massive OD in comparison.

I see where you're coming from as it needs to vent crankcase pressure, but if it's going to do anything IMO it'd just pop-off the parts of the hoses i've left unsecured?

Ah right, I see. You're right, the photo does make it look a lot worse than it is.

Either that or your dipstick, whichever is easiest to remove Wink

That'd be the (non-existent) dip-stick then which Mercedes decided not to include with the car and instead just put a plastic bung on the dipstick tube!

Reading the oil level using the service menu on the dashboard is a pita. "6.7l of oil". Great, is that high/low/just right? :p
