Who's been a busy boy then? My GT4!
Its alive, its alive, woohoo
Well its done, 2 weeks and a day BUT with a few days off in between.
First off this morning i noticed there was no wire on the oil pressure switch BUT the oil light was on when ign on???? turned out the wire to oil pressure switch had been cut back so short and was pulling so tight i assumed it went else where, Doh! so that got extended and sorted.
next prob was the spade on the temp gauge sender snapped off and no one had one in stock so i managed to effect a rather good repair, another prob overcome.
One thing im unsure about is this temp sender, the one with the fly lead coming from it, the lead has a male spade connector on the end of it
Anyone know what it does?
Anyhow, after that i got turbo, manifold and downpipe on, alternator on, AFM and intercooler pipework on, then in went fluids, 5 litres of 75/w90 in the gearbox, 10/w40 in the engine and just water in the cooling system for now and after purging the fuel system by jumping FP and B+ in the diagnostic connector it fired up into life.
I'M OVER THE MOON as there is NO teething problems or other minor issues to look into at all, no leaks and no tweaks needed at all apart from the idle speed, it had no idle control before but now it has so i had to adjust the air bleed screw on the throttle body.
Another mod i made was to the auxiliary belt tensioner, the bracket its on is also a support for the air con compressor, the leg that bolted to that was no longer needed so i cut it off with Mr Grinder.
So now its all done and ****** hell is it responsive with the light weight OSgiken flywheel, really really responsive, the clutch is "interesting" to use to say the least, it is slip-able but theres only about 15mm of pedal movement needed from being able to engage gears and moving away
Good work mate. Satisfying to do yourself.
toxo You've got 3 sensors in the coolant neck, ECU temp sensor, dash temp sensor and cold start timer switch. I can't remember off the top of my head which way round they go but I'll look it up for you tomorrow.

The oil switch makes 5, i have 4 temp sensors in the thermostat housing, ECU temp sensor & cold start, these two are on the front and have plastic connectors on them with two wires, the temp gauge is on the rear with single wire and i have one thats in the top, with a short lead and male spade connector on it, see second pic in post 23, this one is the mystery! engine runs ok and all the gauges work so i dont know what it is for unless its for an after market temp gauge?
