There some details about the compensation provided by the MIB here. There's good news and bad news.

The good news is that although it was originally setup to provide compensation for personal injury only, in 2003 that was extended to allow claims for property damage (as long as it's reporting to the police within 5 days and the offending vehicle is identified).

However the bad news is that there's a £300 excess. Still, that might be better than if you claim through your house insurance and they put your premiums up because of the claim ?

DJ Wozza Glad they got the little git Ian, though I am wondering what the issue is with his driving as your road seemed fairly straight from what I can remember ? Maybe he swerved to avoid another car or even a pedestrian ?

Yep from the earlier pic it does look that way, there would be no reason to just slam on the brakes like that anyway without a reason to....must have been a pedestrian or someone coming out of their drive.......

Guys i think the driver will end up with lots of points, speeding, then due care and attension, and not stopping after having a accident.
Your right Wozza the road is fairly straight but there were no one walking down the lane at that time.
Lucky as well that time of day normally have rider out on there horses.
