The government only gave £1000 for the car scrappage scheme, the other £1000 came from the car manufacturer. And even then, they got a load of money back via the VAT that you paid on the car.

yeh right???????i bought 2 cars on that scheme, and when i checked the deals ,it didnt add up,i still payed the std price for the car as the APR was higher for the scrappage scheme anthe normal scheme;eg ford was 4.3 per cent, and the scrappage was 8,5 per cent ,:Chair:the end of the day i bought a car for £10 g's less the scrappage, and the last payment still come up to £10 g'sConfusedhock:
