Surprised Hamilton came 3rd. Vettel is unlucky. I think this season its going to be The Ferrari's or Red bulls (Vettel/Massa/Alonso) for the title. I cant see McLaren doing much. Although 1 race isnt enough to judge off due to the heat out there. Although its a good sign for the rest of the season

Bit of a boring race TBH. Hope the rest of the year is better. Well done to Vetel - driver of the day IMHO.

So boring, why cant they go back to manuel clutches & gear boxes, limited engine managment etc, in fact bring back the 80's huge slick's power slide's & nice looking car's. get back to 30 car grid's

Have to agree that was really dull, made even worse by the fact Alonso won, and then worse still by how he lucked into it. Feel for Vettel, really deserved that win after not putting a foot wrong all weekend.

But this no refueling thing is stupid, these are the best drivers in the world in the ultimate formula and I want to see them going as fast as they possibly can.

Not them trundling around trying to save fuel and be easy on their tyres - what nonsense. I really hope something changes to make things more interesting.........we'll have to wait and see whether people come up with different strategies such as driving flat out and having more tyre changes and stuff because otherwise every race is just going to be a procession.......even Alonso technically had a faster car than vettel based on his performance at the end of the race but wasn't even trying to pass him.

Really disappointed after the offseason build-up :Sulk:

Got to agree 100% not quite as exciting as I was expecting. No refueling does make it boring and because everyone is trying to look after the cars the drivers are not pushing to their "maximum" (to quote Alonso). I want to see the fastest drivers in the world driving these cars flat out!!

I liked the qualifying however, that was good - now you know who has the ultimate pace unlike the fuel adjusted grids of last year.

The race was pretty boring to be honest and I thought Schumacher did ok considering he has not been there for 3 years and the car is not quite a front runner yet but he still needs to be able to beat Rosberg first.

I'd rank the teams at the moment as:

Ferrari
Red Bull
McLaren
Mercedes (but very close between then and McLaren)

I only watched the race via highlights, so I can't really judge how the whole thing went, but another friend told me they thought it was a dull race too.

Thought Schumacher was a big disappointment.

Great result from Lotus to finish the result, amazing for a brand new team.

Let's hope the main interest for the season isn't going to become the "Class B" race between Lotus/Virgin/Hispania though !

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

steviewevie Thought Schumacher was a big disappointment.

That's a little harsh isn't it :tongue_smilie:

I thought he did pretty well to come 6th, ok he was behind Rosberg but not by a lot and despite being 41 and out of the sport for 3 years he beat the reigning world champion!

I know what you mean though, there was so much build up that I was hoping for something spectacular too but I really think after a few races he'll be back to his old self

Button to me prove what most people were thinking - he only won last year because of the huge advantage his car had over the rest of the field for the first 1/2 of the season. He is a good driver but not in the league of Hamilton and Alonso etc.
