The Galant
The Galant
Nice work, quite like these motors
cheers, and to think my opening idea was going to be
SUBTLE MODS..... i think that went out of the window when some evil devil tempted me with the evo style bonnet...... **** it!
oh well, lifes a b!tch and guess what? so am i! hahahaha!!
there isnt much left to do to it tbh.
i think my next toy (if i ever get the cash for it) will be my pride and joy!
it wont be the fastist thing out there, nor the prettiest looking thing, but i am torn between the 2.5 V6 RWD petrol or another 2.5 TD fulltime 4WD......
And it will beat sleeping in a tent!
 can we say MAZDA BONGO FRENDIEE?! Muhahahahah!!!!
with AFT (auto free top) and full conversion!
thanks
top tip, they did a few different engines for these.
dont bother with the 2liter, its pants!
go for the 2.5 V6, but dont, what ever you do go for the N/A automatic!!! them things always strip the splins off there toque converter and your left shafted!
right that said, you have 3 to 4 options here:
A: 2.5 V6-24 N/A manual galant estate or saloon, go for a pre 2001 so you dont get hammered with high tax, you have to styles, the PFL (prefacelift) or the FL, now the UK spec FL is nice, it will have the same bumper as mine has on it now, as my car is orignal a PFL, the fog lights and tow cover are hard to come by, and when you find them dig deep in your pockets!!!
bad point - imputshaft bearing is this cars only weekness, oh and rusty arches! other then that, you get a nice flawless car here!
B: 2.5 V6-24 Legnum VR4 (estate) same as above but can be got in the tiptronic box, now the auto/tip boxes on the VR4's are much stronger then that of the N/A cars!
these babies come with the following: AYC and full time 4WD.
again style wise both in PFL and FL, but cos the VR4 is an import the FL has an ugly ass rear!
C: same as above but in a saloon version, and these come either as a Legnum or Galant VR4.
OR if your very lucky!!!
super VR4!
same as the VR4 but only came in 2 colours, red (uber rear! and i know of one forsale and its the only one in the uk!) or silver, same engine as the VR4 but has some cosmic differances.
i hope thats made some sence..... lol
Mesobitchy thanks
