it is pointless mate, which is why i dont drink anything but water a lot of the time.
and yes, you are all right in different ways. and I would agree to ban it too. but like James said, it would cause too much stuff to happen to the economy.

besides the fact that anything can cause car accidents wether it be drinks, drugs, speeding, moronic driving, bad car maintenance, or jsut a freak accident

alcohol when drank responsibly is no harm to anyone whatsover

I can understand phils POV because its something obviously close to him, but if we banned everything that had a close meaning to someone for the wrong reasons then we could probably find ourselves with not much in this country to enjoy

Studies in america show dry states suffer more alcohol related car accidents than wet states, because the consumption has been driven underground, and people drive further to get their kicks

much stricter laws never go amiss so long as they are implemented correctly,

as ive said a few times now, id sign a petition right now for a zero limit on drink/driving as i can only see it being a much better deterent

if you ban alcohol it will go underground, home brews would be potent and unreliable, and people would still drink drive, with mroe chance of having an accident because what they drank wasnt good and far to strong?

when you look deeper into things its very easy to say the simple solution is to get rid, when it actually isnt
