DIY Supercharger Issue
DIY Supercharger Issue
Your thread is an interesting read, didn't know anyone had actually done a diy supercharger. Theres a few cheap on ebay so would love to have a go. Have you got a list of parts needed by any chance. I hoped you'd done a build thread on here, but searched with no luck. How have you done the bypass. I can see you're using the clutch switched at full throttle, so you've used the dump valve to get rid of pressure when you close the throttle, but what about when your only half throttle, so clutch turned off, how does the air bypass the charger. If I do one I'd love to have it switchable, not just for the cool factor, but for economy and for the its icey or the missus drives it.
Any info you've got would be brilliant or any links to any.

great build,
i plan on gathering some bits and doing one myself, just a question about the bypass,if i fit a bov do i need a bypass? if not where does the bleeds from the bov go,one to atmospherei guess?,but what of the other one.does this go back into the intake pipe?
many thanks in advance.

Stoney I believe that with a BOV you do not need to run the bypass cable at all.

didnt know from your build where the pipes went fron the bov thats all,ill use the same sort of set up,dont want to hunt around forever for tte bits, cant justify the spend on them.
just need to fabricate the outlet and get a supra tensioner and thats about it? i think?
Main problem for me is the charger mount lol i aint got the skills to fabricate that lol
yeah, but shouldnt be too hard to do only a few bits of round bar a couple of angles and some nuts welded in,gonna have a measure up tom and see what i cane come up with:blink:
ive got the charger, pulley and i/c,just need to wait for the bov and pipework, then some serious head scratchin.
Buzzard if you can make a second mount ill pay lol are you using merc slk230 charger aswell
Following this with great interest...once I've finished my exterior/handling mods I'll definitely be having a look at having a go at this.
I've got all the machinery and access to materials required for the production of something like this, although I would imagine it's quite a long process making it up as you go along?
I admire your hard work (and also having the balls to just jump in and have a go! lol)
