Lexuspat LEDs in white work alot better then the ones in blue as the light comes through alot better so instead of buying SMDs which are more expensive LEDs will work just as good.

As I mentioned before, buying direct from the far east can help costs. The last SMD bulbs I bought were £1.59 a pair, delivered. I wouldn't call that expensive. (Different fitment to dash mind, for sidelights and number plate lights.)

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Well Sprinter had LEDs and was not happy with them. I have LEDs and am not 100% happy with them, but sticking with them for now.

This image shows an uneven spread of light from LEDs, (as mine is too).

This image shows a very even spread from SMDs, (as I plan to upgrade to when less pressing matters are sorted.)

I know his are white, but blue give just as good a spread from others I have seen. (Not got time to hunt for a pic, sorry.)

Of course, it all comes down to, as always, what you are happy with in your own car. Also, as you mentioned, LEDs are more available, and possibly cheaper to.

i know what you mean stoney, and like you i will change them to smds but its way down my list of things to do, Plus when i got them i used them on many other items and got a pack of 20 for around £3 so a bargin price.

agree smds work alot better but if you want them white you can always just remove the orange covers from the standard bulbs

That you can!

Yeah, SMDs are better, but I am running LEDs and will do for some time also. They are an improvement on the Orange, and easy enough to live with.

Heres's a picture of the SMD's I used in the picture that Stoney posted above...

Those are the exact 5 bulbs I have in my dash now. If your bulbs are a loose fit, my advice would be to very carefully bend back the contacts on the bulb, slide some heat shrink over the stalk of the bulb, then fold the contacts back up over the top of the heat shrink. That way it should pad out the bulb in the holder and make it a tighter fit.

So what's actually the problem? You don't have enough of either colour to do the whole dash the same you mean?

Do you want the dash blue or white?
