What have you done to your car today?

Well i finally did a major service on the old girl and the transformation is like chalk and cheese, she definitely needed it, however still need to do timing belt as my mechanic wasn't able to loosen the crank pulley to get at the timing belt, so he's booked it in at his workshop next Saturday so he can use their heavy duty impact gun...
I hope its gonna work cos the amount of torque we put on that bolt was scary! It just wouldn't budge!😱
Walked past one and though 'That needs a wash', got in the other and though 'This needs a wash too'
toxo Ahh welcome to the world of Toyota crank bolts!

Don't put heat on it, you'll melt the crank seal. WD40 won't do anything either. You can get a tool to lock against the pulley, they sell them on eBay. Failing that, wedge the breaker bar against the floor and try and start the car. I don't know if the 1G is the same but the 1U and 2J are done up to something like 220ftlbs
Yeah we tried the locking of the bar against the floor and starting it but it didn't work either it just lifted the car but wouldn't budge the bolt to be honest i think the last person to work on the car used an impact gun to tighten the bolt, because we put way more then 220ft/lb on that bolt, it was unreal it was.
My is300 was like this, broke the Toyota special tool, in the end a one inch drive did the job.
ZAIS200 Holy cow dude, you should have seen it... There were 4 of us all with motor mechanic experience, and this little bolt had us all looking like a bunch of chimps! It was unbelievable we had a battery operated half inch impact gun on it... Didn't budge, then we literally bathed the whole bolt area in WD40... Still nothing, then we tried a half in T-bar with a 1.5m extension bar on it and guess what... In 6th gear it was moving the car backwards and still it would not budge, then i put my foot on the brake with it still in gear and the handbrake on, it was just turning the whole drive train on its mountings, so in fear of us damaging mounts we gave up... Nothing would crack the bolt loose, the plan is to take it to the mechanics workshop early Saturday morning to use a bigger more powerful compressed air impact gun that they use when they work on busses, my mechanic is a diesel-mac for one of the local bus companies...I'm a bit worried though what if all of this doesn't work how will we get that bolt loose, maybe take a torch to it and use heat to crack it loose?
