Gave up with jailbreaking ages ago. I always used to so as to run on T-Mobile while O2 had the monopoly. But after a while most of the stuff I used from jailbreaking was getting included bit by bit in iOS updates, and not needing to unlock either, I haven't bothered jailbreaking since iOS4 I think...
I did ask stav a while back if he thought the new ipad mini would fit into the satnav housing but i forgot to remind him to measure the unit to see if it would fit.
If it does i may just have to stick my hand in my pocket and get one built!

The new google maps actually has a really good turn by turn built in too - use it today and it was pretty much spot on

I think you're forgetting the nexus 7 which has a more usable 7" screen. I picked one up for practically half the cost of an iPad mini and to me it's actually a better device.
