^^yeah as above, they may make you "interview" for the position,

or even tally up on a points score of your attributes and highest score stays etc

which if it goes that way you should beat the uni guy hands down

One thing that caught me out, the weeks per year you've worked there only includes your current employment. That might sound obvious, but if you've changed contracts or moved from part time to full time etc then it's only the current contract that counts. I got caught out with that, having worked for a company for 5 years but only getting 2 weeks pay due to having changed from part time to full time.

At the end of the day they will keep the person who they believe to be best at the job. There's not a lot you can do now that you know what's happening because they will be judging this on past results and their experience of having you work for them. It sounds like you're in good stead what with being in early each day etc. Fingers crossed!

Having to lay someone off is horrible for both sides - had to do that only a few months ago, I was sick with worry for a couple of weeks afterwards - even though we were in the right legally........

Hope you keep your job, but I would start looking NOW for another position rather then leave it until a decision is made. What I did years ago was get a PSV and HGV license then I know I should always have work.

Not quite the same thing, but I took voluntary redundancy a number of years back before I got into working for myself. Like others have said I looked about and found myself a job before the end day.

And as Moley said, it was the best thing that could've happened. I left employer A on Monday with a few K in redundancy payoff, and started with employer B on the following Monday at a smidgen under twice the salary paid by employer A...

Thanks guys for your kind words and advice. My dad has put his feelers out for me for a temp position however after a heart to heart with my misses I may go for a career change. Never been 100% happy in this role and money was too good to just give up on it all. Her parents may lend me some money to keep me afloat in the mean time. Im hoping to hear something next few days.

Car 1 - 02 Lexus IS200 SE Strathcaron Blue, Sport Grille, TTE Lowering Springs (to be fitted), K&N Panel Filter, 6500K XENON Headlight Main & Dipped Bulbs, Xenon Sidelights, 17" Gunmetal Powder Coated Alloys, Front Grooved Discs and Mintex Pads
Car 2 - 73 Hillman Imp AKA Hilda, Aquarious Blue, work in progress!
