Dave how often should a battery be changed?

I don't think you can put a fixed period on it. It should last a few years, but depends on the quality of the battery, how often the car is used, etc, etc.

If the battery hasn't been changed for a few years, then it *might* be on its way out.

You can get it checked, just go to a garage and ask them to check.

I got a Bosch battery at the start of the year from Andrew Page for £51. At the time lexus wanted £56. You cant go wrong with stuff from Andrew Page. Its a decent place and at least they sell decent batteries. I shopped around all the trade places and found them to be the best. When I changed my battery it transformed the car and the way it started. Oh yeh if the voltage is dropping as low as 9 volts then the battery is defo on its way out.

Blimey that's a good price for a Bosch battery ! What model was it, S4 027 ?

Shame they don't seem to have any branches near to me though.

I think its one of the S4 series. I dont remember off the top of my head but all I know that its a ****** good battery lol. Its got I think a 5 year guarantee as well. Steve, as you noticed about putting the rear screen on, I've noticed that the rear screen eats a lot of power especially if you have a lot of stuff on like the heating and the seats. I think its just a characteristic of the car.
