Hello mate
I would say 2JZ because its a 3l rather than 1jz being only 2.5. But I heard that 1JZ Parts are a lot easier to source than the 2jz. So I would also say 1JZ Smile

New gearbox? Bellhousing for gearbox, all electronics. Then ECU which will be able to work with your current instrument cluster (speedo, tacho, fuel, temp) as sometimes you need to do this as the new engine will not give out the right signals.
But remember, I am only 14 so this information may not be correct. Some professional will come and pick me up tomorrow when everyones around mate.

Hi mate,

personally either engine would cause issues to fit, so its up to you, i like the 1JZ's personally.
But as Oli says the electreonics are a massive pain in the rear. What ECU you thinking of? youll have to leave the stock ecu in whatever you do.

What gearbox you planning on using?

Welcome aboard !

I personally like the idea of the 1JZ too, not least because it's lighter than the 2JZ. But the electronic issues will be the major ones, as has been said.

Are you planning to do this all yourself or get someone else to do it ?

Check out Sam's thread where he's doing a 1JZ conversion - http://www.outlawjapclub.co.uk/forum/sho...php?t=5530

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
