supercharger help
Guys - I have having a nightmare - just after I decided to split the car up as in remove the charger and sell car separately .
Just back from a 80 mile return trip - and about a mile from home and very suddenly a loud whine and lack of power - cruised home and found the spring at supercharger has sheared off. Sounded like a belt was slipping.
So 2 questions :
1. Does anybody have a spare spring or know where to get one ?
2. Can anybody post up an idiots guide to removing the belt for the charger so at least I can run the car ?
Pics would be great please..
Thanks in advance.
I am sure I have read before the springs are weak but just typical to happen when I decide to sell the whole kit.
Cheers
kev
You wouldnt just be able to remove the belt and have it working mate, you will need an air supply, with no supercharger you arent getting an air supply are you?

Disconnect Battery (not essential but good practice)
Remove bumper
undo SC pully remove belt and pulley replace cap on pully(taken of during inital install)
undo SC bolts
undo silicone hoses
remove SC from cradle
undo cradle (you will need to jack the Drivers side up to get the bottom bolt)
remove all SC piping and silicone hoses
Remove FMIC
Remove snorkel and replace bolts with standard ones from when fitting kit
remove TTE Airbox
remove Bypass cable from throttle
Refit standard Airbox
re fit bumper
Remove TTE Black box from ecu reconnecting wires
umm i think thats all steps any one else want to add to it lol

They should help mate
Sparkystav You can just remove the belt, and disconnect throttle wire then the air goes through the bypass.
You need to loosen the tightener pully then the belt should just come off. You just need to loosen the bolt in the middle of the little pulley.
Then just unclip the throttle wire (move the wire so it comes out the slot)
As for the spring, what does it look like? a coil one or a round one like you get on pliers etc?
Its a known problem, when TTE were still going they would send you an uprated spring free, dunno what you could do now. but if you can find a similar spring it should work
