dimis Your problem might be the ball bearings of the suspension arms. Have you ever changed them?

Nah, only had the car for about 6 months and log book showed that previous owner had it serviced at Lexus about 2x more than was needed. 60k service was conducted at 50k for example.

Do you think they'd be changed as part of routine servicing, or should I take it to a garage?

i highly doubt they would of been changed unless the previous owner stated he wanted them changed and if the bearing has only recently colapsed/wornout then it wouldnt of been picked up by the garage best bet is to try and get the car to tony at wim as he has the most knowledge and the best equipment he's the car doctor and knows everything to do with handling and setups and geometry

I cant see it being tyre pressure cos if it was the pulling wouldn't be intermittent

I had the same symptoms a week before I wrote my car off mate. It was a puncture. Best get the tyre checked, as I ruined mine by running it flat. Was brand new too. Sad

Yeips! Will check the pressure out tonight.

Interesting Q: If you've got aftermarket 18" wheels, should you still go with Lexus pressure recommendations, or what is printed on the tyres?

What tyres do you have on the front?
I've got Dunlop SP9000 on the front of mine and they do like to tramline. Creeping up to certain traffic lights the wheels want to follow the ruts.
Just something to be aware of, you might not have anything wrong.

Yeah I hope it was just that. I just got taken by surprise on how far the wheel moved.

I'm running Avon ZZ3's for what its worth.

Hold on, you stopped at a set of lights, car was completely stationary, let go of wheel and it turned 90 degrees all on its own? Surely that can't be a puncture?

Power steering fault maybe? That sounds really bizarre either way!
