Just bought an XBOX360!!

What an amazing machine, I didn't really thing 1080P was going to be as good as it is for games, but there is NO comparison at all.

Got gears of War2
Halo3
Halo Wars (free with 'box)
Sonic Unleashed

So something to get going with!!

I remember when DVD's were £30, so Bluray will soon drop.

My PC at home plays Blu Ray.

Marsdendean Nope.

Its what Microsoft call HD DVD's - which are already nearly dead !

Toshiba started making HDDVD's and Sony started and then headed up a corporation of companies making the BLURAY discs.

kind of like the betamax/vhs war. This time BLURAY won.

Rumour has it one major reason BLURAY won was because they were willing to sell blank discs to the p0rn industry where as Toshiba werent willing to sell them blank HDDVD's.
Its such a huge market it started the decline from there.

what stav said is true..

Sony learnt that lesson with Betamax when they wouldnt allow the format to be used for the "adult ent" industry so this time they went all out and actually went to them..

dont have any tech spec but i have to say that HD DVD looks and defiantly sounds better to me...

i have both and due to the demise of HD DVD got loads of them for a couple of £ a time!

no Tech Specs, just read a lot of forums and the general feeling at the time of the main format war was HD-DVD had the edge over Blu-ray.

I suppose it could be like Plasma vs LCD, I go for Plasma (Pioneer or Panasonic) every time, whereas others prefer LCD.

Personally i prefer LCD but i think its because of the early issues that Plasma were rumoured to have with screen burning
