Mitsubishi To Officialy Kill Off Evo

The Lancer Evolution X, Eusegi told me, will be the last Evo. “There is still a demand [for the car],” he said, “but we must stop.” Eyebrow up.
“Our influence now is EV technology,” Eusegi said, adding that the decision was a “policy change”.
It seems Mitsubishi, which is going to introduce eight full electric or hybrid cars by 2015, has decided its image is about lowering CO2, not making lurid replicas of rally cars that don’t go top-level rallying any more.
Eusegi said that customers would find it “easier to understand” what Mitsubishi was about if it was no longer in this motorsport-inspired market.
He seemed to put the rumoured diesel hybrid Evo replacement to bed, too. So the X will be the last Evolution model? “Yes. Maybe the world can change, and maybe someday we can do a motor race by electric vehicles,” said Eusegi. “Maybe then we can enter the market again.”
Until then, prepare yourselves for the end of an era.

Marsdendean shame but only the rich can afford the fueling to enjoy them to the max
I am not rich but can afford to run one - I would rather put that money to something more useful and tangible then petrol:p

Are you saying Anees is richer than Moley? Well, maybe, course Moley like all good scots hoards his dosh under the mattress and doesn't like spending it if he doesn't have to! :thumbup1:
Is a shame they're killing the Evo off though, I always thought they looked better than the Scoobys, something about them just seemed cooler to me... I would have thought a market still existed, or are we all getting too old (I'm only 33!!) and just refusing to change with the world? Hope I'm not that much an old fogey at this age!

True it did cost me a packet but considering I don't use the car that much for a lot of the rest of the year its reasonable when you work it out over the year.
Raj in his M5 had similar economy to the Evo but he has a bigger 75 litre tank compared to the 50 litre tank in mine so doesn't run out as quick and of course he could fill up from other places apart from Shell.. :lol:
