The 2JZ-GTE can be picked up with full loom and ECU for about £800. You've heard of the Toyota Aristo right? you can buy the full car for £1500 these days.
The R154 used to sell for about £150, I understand they're getting rarer, but again £600 should get you a rotten MKIII Supra Turbo.
If people are paying £600 for a R154, they need shooting in that case I'd keep the A340E if you didn't mind the auto.
2tongues I assume that pricing is not a re-built engine - just a "known to be good" one?
The ally welding alone on my conversion came to 1K. But every conversion is going to be different.
Your prices sound good but I fear there may be a few surprises that you may need a bit more than £500 slush fund, lets face it a good tubby is the thick end of 1K, mine I believe was £1200 for the spec it is currently running.

Roadside Tech OK, due to various PMs etc, and as not to cause rampant panic that there's some noob that can do 2JZ swaps into a IS for peanuts, I've done some semi proper pricing.
2JZ-GTE engine/loom/ECU - £1100
R154 Gearbox (for instance) - £600
Parts, including all custom pipe work - £1300
Slush fund (unforeseen 'just incase money') - £500
Labour (15 days excluding club discount) - £1500
Total = £5000
Those prices are to the max.
Think I'll have to do a sponsored car over winter to prove it huh?

Mr Mole What is involved in a sponsored car ?? Because I could easily put my car off the road for winter :drool:

sorry I didn't mean to sound rude, I forgot the 2JZ was twin tubby!!
The only thing that put me off that conversion was the extra costs that ToyotaGT quoted, but I know they really wanted to do the 3SGTE so were quoting accordingly, and included a re-con engine.
I have found a scrap MR2 GTS with a fully forged 550BHP 3S-GTE engine, makes me want to keep my car!! £600 + Supra gearbox + fitting = mega monster....................... Next trip to Bulgaria I will see if it is intact enough to use the engine, if it is I am keeping my IS and doing another swap.
Roadside Tech Seems it'll be the only way to get some believersPeople are queuing up to want to believe you mate ! :biggrin:
