Most insurers will askt he value of the claim aswell, so instead of lumping mr mondeo's figure with my figure it will be less,

Plus im getting a new nsr door fitted and sprayed, so may go the whole hog and get a full respray as the paint is realy swirly and stone chipped anyway

tbh my insurance was going up regardless

Even so, I'd take Jim's advice myself and just get it all through the insurance, especially if you're going to go to a cheapy runabout for a while, it gives you a chance to rebuild your lost NCB on a cheaper car...

IS200 Sport - Sold
Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications
Completed:

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

Not sure that the Mondeo driver has, but its always worth covering your bases.

When I got sideswiped in the IS my insurance company phoned me every 3 days for about 2 weeks to ask if we were suffering from any stiffness!

The Mrs being pregnant had some pains shortly after the accident (belt tightening round stomach) and went to the doctor. The doctor actually said "Baby is fine, but I'd put in for 4 cases (me, mrs and kids) of whiplash if I were you and I'll sign them off."

We didn't of course, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't tempting!

nah he wa sup out the car all fine, lives near me aswell so wont try anything

hte qoute for repair from yesterdays accident is £400, as my excess is £750 insurance wont pay anything anyway,

The qoute ive got of £900 is for eysterdays damage, plus fittings, respraying and full blend of a door aswell from a previous accident, which insurance wont cover anyway.

final qoute for damage is £1,025.............but that also includes fixing my door and sill and blending from a previous accident,

Actual cost of the recent accident was £500,...........not even near my excess!!!

The garage said they could lump it all together back hander style, but aviva have confirmed if i dont claim then i will only lose 2 years NCB and retain 1 years NCB,

If i claim then i lose the lot,.......so not worth it i dont think

Just for the record when I had my accident I got up out the car fine and walked to inspect the car etc but I only started to feel the pain about an hour after and within 3 hours I was on a spinal board with suspected neck fracture

So just coz they got out the car fine don't mean they won't suffer after so a claim could still happen.....

Glad you said that as I've heard of cases of whiplash not coming to light until the next day or sometimes the day after.

Anyway, sounds like carpediem is getting things sorted now. So hope all goes OK mate and the other bloke is as genuine as you think :thumbup1:

Yep when I got rear ended I was fine at the time, but about 2 days later I had a really sore shoulder/back/arm which lasted for about a week.

It often only kicks in a bit later, still no need to claim though unless it's quite serious, I think it's really annoying that they seem to be doing everything they can to encourage an injury claim to be made.

Phil01 Whiplash from a side swipe???, Fooking idiot
Sounds like a parasite who is after compensation

Side impact whiplash is a medical FACT. Whiplash injuries can take weeks, months or even years to become fully apparent. This is why some GP's will say you have whiplash even if you haven't got all the symptoms.

Insurance companies may disallow clams if they are put in more than a month or so after the crash. So if he clams whiplash he is 100% within his right to do so.
