strange how cars are getting so much safer nowadays with so many crumple zones, air bags, impact bars etc, but the rise in whiplash claims is so high, has it got anything to do with "where theres a blame there is a claim" culture, it appears head restraint that manufactures invest hundreds of thousnads of pounds in to stop injuries like this Don't work

About a month ago I just tapped the car in front of me and only marked my front number plate, did no damage to the car in front but when we stopped the woman passenger got out holding her neck in make believe pain, I just told the silly c0w to get a life and dont fabricate a neck injury, when she realised I was not happy with her actions she got back in and they both drove off, I did inform my insurance company, "just in case" with phone cam images to both cars.

Totally agree. Its far too easy to put in a claim for whiplash and far too easy to get money out of it.

However, I can see it from the other side of the fence too. You spend all your life paying increasingly rising car insurance for what seems like no reason at all. And if you do have an accident, the insurance company tries their best to cheap-out on your repairs.

So when a large cash sum is offered to you on a plate if you say that you've got a sore neck, its almost an invitation to bend your insurance company over the barrel and get some of that money back.

Obviously the long term effects are that it will increase the cost of insurance for you and indeed everyone country-wide, but if you can pay next years insurance with your sore neck money - fkin game on.

Totally agree Jim, but like you say "we pay for it in the long Run"
I just dont wanna pay for someone to have a nice hoilday on my account.

Also some insurances promote this type of claim because if they persue it on your behalf they also earn a huge commission as well.
Its all so very wrong

My mum hit a Volvo 740 with her Pug 205, she cracked the Pugs number plate and the tailgate of the Volvo flew open and would not close again!!Amazing what damage you can do at low speeds.

The secret with whiplash is the understanding how the injury works. As said previously it can take weeks to years to really show.

I have whiplash from a Judo accident, it is incredibly painful years after the event, maybe 2 or 3 weeks a year of incredible neck pain - real whiplash injury is no joke and is almost untreatable.
