I'm gonna soon be ticking over to the 60k mark, but tbh I think that a lot of what would be in a normal 60k has already been done at 52k. So whats left apart from below...

- Timing belt done at 52k
- Water pump done at 52k
- Oil, Trans fluid, coolant done at 52k
- Oil filter done at 52k
- Sparks done at 52k (but will be putting colder ones in when SC comes anyway)

I spoke to my local Lexus dealer and told them that the above had already been done, but they still quoted me £500 for a 60k service which sounds like loblocks.

I cant think of anything that would make the service cost that much?

Cheers mate I'll give them both a call. I'm in two minds about getting my side windows tinted but I definitely want a sun strip on the windscreen to make it look a bit more aggressive if your guy can do that.

Was one on the way to Southend IIRC? TBH I thought that it had gone, but maybe not.

Gord If that was my car, i would be having oil & filter change Jim, would poss have air filter, but i think you not running standard air filter ?

Ah yeah that's a point. I also told them that I wouldn't be needing those done either (because of the Injen).

I was contemplating doing the oil myself, though the removal of the filter on the IS300 looks like a biznatch to do? I'd quite like to run some Amsoil in there with maybe a TRD filter and get one of those magnetic sump plugs?

Gord Don't bother with TRD filter mate, the standard one is just as good, try having a look on LOC, monster prat posted something up years ago now, someone cut both the filters in 1/2 and did tests and i'm sure the standard Toyota filter came out best Big Grin

Good call mate. TBH the only reason I wanted it was because its red lol.

Maybe I'll just paint the Toyota one :p

Yeah, TRD filters aren't worth it! Just spraypaint TRD onto your Toyota one  Edit: Bah you beat me to it!

Your list looks pretty comprehensive. I take it it hasn't had the oil pump replaced (not that you would at 60k, it just seems the only thing missing on the list)?

Toyota's services can be pretty mad, if they stick to the guide then it will involve inspecting a lot of parts and replacing them if required, like vac hoses, aux belts, brake and fuel lines, checking tightness of important bolts etc etc

I don't think the oil pump has been replaced, but tbh I've only got the checklist from the last service (the 52k one) and it's not mentioned on there. I doubt it would have been done any earlier than that though, as you say.

I would quite like the Lex stamp for the 60k, but I'm wondering if its really worth it Confused
