First post- Key Programming
First post- Key Programming
Hi all,
First post since moving over from LOC- I had my first IS200 new back in 2005, then moved to a diesel 250, then a sucession of BM's and as I'm no longer in receipt of a car allowance I picked myself up a 2004/5 IS300 last week.
Car is faultless aside from a couple of stone chips etc.
Anyway, I'm waiting on another key coming through, but in the meantime I thought I'd pick up a SH key on the bay along with a new case and get it cut and programmed.
So, keys been cut today and works fine, however, do you think I can program it to accept the immobiliser- can I ****...
Tried every method described on here and LOC and nothing seems to work...
Has anyone got any advice?? (I'm loathe to post on the 'other site' as traffic is such that posts go unanswered for days), whereas heres just a little bit more lively!
Will post some pics up soon- allthough I spent most of yesterday washing, polishing and waxing, only to come out this morning to see it covered in tree pollen..
Cheers,
J
Welcome to the club moke:
Only thing to do is try try and then try again, people on here have been successful in programming their keys.
But I have not tried it myself so I cant advise which is the best method, sorry !
Gord Hi welcome over sorry i don't know how to program the keys, never had the need, but from what people have said, it took them quite a few times to get it right mate.

 Welcome over to the :Shooting: Outlaw way of life...
I've never had to program a key (yet), but I have 2 master keys that came with the car thankfully, plus a third sitting about that I will need to program should I ever lose one of the working ones...
On a side note, :ttiuwp:
Show us the car, man!!
if you have a spare program unit i can copy them at work for you. but i need to have one working unit and a blank, if this helps then pm me
Cool, thanks for all the advice..
I'll try another couple of times and then either..
admit defeat and
take it to the dealer for coding (needs an MOT in the next couple of days anyway)
go back to the key cutting place and (as they do transponder keys anyway) get them to copy it over- I dont know why I didnt think of this when they cut the key yesterday....

Lexusboy Jason If you go to the dealer ask his price first as i think they charge around £800 for a reprogrammed key.
