I'm trying to see if we can figure out what the trim code means on the manufacturer's plate at the back of the engine bay of the IS200 (the one with the VIN etc).

As per the picture below, there's a section for the trim code (I think), after the colour code and before the axle and transmission codes, on the bottom line of the plate :

I've had a brief look and can't see this explained elsewhere on the web, but if someone knows where it is then please let me know !

My trim code in the pic above is "LB20". I am assuming this is to do with the interior trim at least, e.g. part leather seats and seat colour. What I was hoping is that if a load of us can check the trim codes and post what the *original* trim of your car was (obviously if you've swapped your interior, e.g. for full leather, your trim code isn't going to match what you've actually got now !).

I was hoping that this might be useful, e.g. *maybe* there's a way to figure out if a model is a "Sport" from this plate, or maybe it's just to do with colour/material of interior trim ?

If you can, please respond using this sort of format:

Trim code : (what it says on your VIN plate)
Model : IS200/300/Sportcross S/SE/Sport etc
Interior : Black/cream cloth/part leather/full leather/etc

ok, this is mine :

Trim code : LB20
Model : IS200 Sport
Interior : Black part leather

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Lol !
No worries Steve.
Hopefully we can get some more on here to see the differences between trims, colours, and ages

Ah ha !!

I can now tell you this !

It’s the fist three digits on the VIN plate.

For example, in the above pic, it reads 1C0.

Then the next 4 digits is the Trim, LB20

Then the next 4 digits is the differential A02B
