A Witches life with Supras
A Witches life with Supras
I started a scrap book full of supra pictures with smiley faces marking the things I liked on other cars and £ noting the prices, I discovered I have expensive taste and the more I liked something the smaller I had to write the numbers lol. Eventually by about the middle of 2010 I thought I had a definition of what I wanted, what it would cost, where I was going .. and a plan
Listening to various people resulted in some serious rethinking of the whole smoothing out aspect of my project. My kit is all quite low to the ground and when I first brought her home to MK, I was extremely glad I have coilovers as I couldn't get her over any of the copious speedhumps on my way to home and work. Smoothing out the rear wings of my car involves at least a foot high amount of filler and fibreglass, more in some places to get the bulbous wings to look right. This amount of filler and low and wide kit means that any even very slight touch to a kerb, drain cover, speedhump, odd camber, pothole etc could cause a substantial amount of damage. My car would be ruined and the repairs would never be a touch up job, especially as my paint would be custom made and I had designs for personal touches to really splatter my mark on my car. I had three options simplify my paint plans/keep as show only car or take car back to stock or let the bodyshop work the magic they promised they could on making the kit fit properly again and live with it. I guess I really really do love that Do-Luck as the last option won hands down on my pros and cons lists.

Good write up Sam, Keep the updates coming
I really want to show the whole story in pictures starting from the pictures/video I took of my car before I dropped her off, through the mechanic ripping her to tiny pieces and showing me a supra in cardboard boxes , the most exciting (and expensive) shopping spree, to the transport of the shell to the bodyshop, their work, the journey back in the HKS world record holding supras very own trailer, to the rebuild and me picking it up ...
But I can't cos the first bit is mechanics pictures and he won't let me have them til the end :p .. but here's a little shopping pic I showed a few people and also my current facebook pic, so this isn't really a surprise to a lot of you lol
So have you picked it up yet Sam ? or is it still getting magic dust sprinkled on it
It's out of the bodyshop.. but still with the mechanics right now
Oh I should say if that colour looks blue to you, it isn't. I absolutely freaked when I first saw that picture on my i-phone cos it looked blue .. I phone them immediately about the blow a fuse and they said no, no, no it is definitely purple so I looked again on PC and it was, and went up there to see it for myself.. and the colour is just amazing !
