Hi all,

I am trying to do my own intake(I got the 3 inch 90 and 45 degrees, the airfilter and the pipe) but I was just wondering where should I stick the brether pipe and the intake sensor...or HOW? I am thinking makig a whole in the intake hose and get it in there but what about the breather?

Any pics would be great.

Cheers.

If its anything like the IS300, the MAF sensor is best kept in the same if possible. However, whats FAR more important is that the diameter of the intake pipe is kept the same.

If you were for example to go from the 2.75" pipe up to a 3" pipe, the MAF reading would be incorrect and you'd get an engine check light and the car would run like a pig.

Its just a temp sensor mate not a pressure or flow sensor (hence thread title changed)

It can be mounted anywhere along the intake, you can just make a hole in the silicone pipe and push it in.

as for the breather, if your still Normally aspirated just put one of the small filters you can get off the likes of Ebay.

Just did my homework and I had no idea the IS200 had a MAP sensor as part of the throttle body! Quite a bit different to the 300 then

Cheers mate. Much appreciated. I will see if I can actually get a catch can with a breather on top.

Moley What difference dose it make if you are N/A or not for the small filters ???????????

With a boosted engine, the boost pressure can push (small amounts of) oil out through this breather, and you might want to consider an oil catch can. See Jim's thread "Catch me if you can" for more info on this. With no turbo/supercharger this should not occur and so a small filter is all that is needed.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Not sure there is any point in a catch can without a charger? Other than engine bay bling. What do you think it would catch? Any ideas Stav?
