Jim is it excessively noisey as chargers are very rough and coarse sounding by nature of there design, every one sounds different, and in my opinion Bandit has the noisiest one out there.

You've not heard mine!

I would imagine Jim's Procharger to be louder than our TTE ones? Due to pushing a lot more power/boost. Though I am only imagining this, and have no real basis for that opinion!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Its making a sort of buzzing noise randomly. Can only just about hear it inside the cabin, but from outside it makes the car sound like a bag of spanners. Well, actually it sounds more like the belt is rubbing against something plastic.

Have a listen here. The buzz kicks in at about 14 seconds:

After listening to some TTE vids, I'd say the noise of the TTE is nicer. The Prochargers sound a bit like a bag of spanners until you start giving them grunt. Then they sound more like a whistle whereas the TTE is a whine.

I guess its impossible to say for certain until someone who has listed to a TTE first hand hears mine.

Oh yeah, I hear it. Though don't know enough about your charger to in any way identify it!

Of course, a direct comparison is required.

I think I agree that I prefer the TTE whine though, as mine HERE (only low revs mind.)

Like the new Signature Jim.

Nor me. I asked Procharger and they wouldn't give me any idea of what it might be but told me to send it back for repairs. Yeah right, I know what'll happen there. It'll be $800 for the repair and they'll have me by the nuts as my charger is half way round the world.

The noise seems to be at its worst at 2k RPM. Above that it completely goes away, below that you might here it once every few minutes.

So I pulled the charger off as it was really acting up today. I'm going to centerparcs next weekend too so it seemed best not to tempt fate by leaving it on.

Rebuild shouldn't be too bad I hope. I've found a good local bearing company, and u may even polish or powdercoat the unit while it's off.

Turns out I fouled up some sparks. But the charger was sounding shagged anyway so its best that it came off.

Gonna move to copper sparks for the mo. Now I know how to change them, I'd rather spend £10 on some cheap-o ones and foul them up every nce in a while rather than splashing out in Iridium's.
