22-06-2018, 10:41 PM #63Lol, don't worry more to come very soon. I've been a bit preoccupied with the Germany trip and I just need to catch up on some of the work I should have done now. I have all my pictures from all the sources for my Supra, so I will attempt to put them in some sort of order and work out what they are (or make something complicated up that sounds good). I also have a fourteen page essay from the mechanic on everything that happened cos I didn't think you'd all settle for my instructions to him at the beginning which were 'Make it faster, make it better, make it pretty, make it shiny and don't remove my wing mirror stickers!'

My girlfriend has a similar obsession with all things purple. She really wants an IS now she has seen mine and driven it (in a car park only!) I'd better not let her see pics of your purple Supra, or she will want one of them for sure. Maybe a good job there are no photos for her to see!

So .. over the summer and autumn of last year ( 2010 ), I spent time with my mechanic and the bodyshop devising a plan.
I chose JPS Motorsport in MK for my mechanicals. When I moved to MK a while back I wanted to find a more local mechanic who knew something about Supras and stumbled upon Leon Green at JPS. I took them both in for a small service to see what I thought of him and how we'd get on and all three of my cars have been going there ever since. He's not cheap but he has seemed very straight up and honest. He doesn't appear to have done work I don't need and what he has done has been a noticeable improvement. Leon has owned and built Supras for a very long time and you will have seen pictures of a blue drag racing supra I have posted around the forum and facebook. Leon Green has built and drives the current HKS World record holding dragstrip supra - an absolutely mindblowing piece of kit to see in his workshop never mind on the Pod !
I chose MW Bodyshop in Olney for my respray and bodywork as they did the work on Suki for her respray and stripes and I consider them all friends now. Mark, the boss is an excellent painter and certainly on Suki went out of his way to make it a remarkable job. Wayne, is a genius with fibreglass and bodykits and I knew between them I would get an outstanding job.
Being of a slightly impatient nature, I began last autumn pushing everyone involved in this to commit to a timetable which would keep my time without my car firstly over winter when I couldn't drive her anyway and secondly to a minimum.

Second or third week of December I would get Pumpkin down to JPS and they would start stripping off all the bits that would be sent away for polishing or rework and get them off to all the people we had booked time with so they could start straight away after Xmas. Leon was to remove the engine and everything else that affected the respray at the beginning of January and the car shell would be at the bodyshop before the end of January for them to start first week of February. The bodyshop had cleared three solid weeks of work so all the team could only work on mine and it could be back with JPS in the last week of February. Allowing for a few delays at the bodyshop and the polishers/pipework people/turbo company etc all not being on time I still anticipated end of March the car would be mine and finished !

The next morning... it snowed! [/COLOR]
