The exhausts aren't bad - especially if you're after a loud setup. The only gripe I had with my one was that it started showing rust spots almost as soon as it got wet. Nothing massively bad that would turn into gaping holes, but just annoying

I'm not for a loud setup at all, just for some more pony's and easier breathing of the engine. Maybe some burbling noise will do me, but not the loudness

jimxms Also, it is dyno proven that (on an IS300 at least), you will loose torque but gain HP by going decat (unless you are running a large turbo of course).

Bang on the money. I actually put the CAT back on an N/A MR2 because while it may have added a little more top end (and more noise) the loss of mid-range torque affected the driveabillity around the ACIS point, and thus it was a bit gutless up to 3500rpm, which is where you tend to sit when in traffic/town. Under general driving conditions I certainly spend more time around the middle of the rev range than at the top!

Different story on forced induction mind you.

Sorry to say that you will not be a fan of the Japspeed then.

I can see two options for you....

1. Use only the Japspeed mid-pipe and sell the back-box to someone. This will remove a tiny bit of restriction as the Japspeed mid-pipe has a smaller resonator. It will also change the exhaust note slightly but remain quiet as you will still be using the OEM back box.

2. Use only the Japspeed back box and keep the OEM mid-pipe. It will make it slightly more free flowing, but as the back box is what does the majority of the noise muffling, it will still be significantly louder than stock.

Unfortunately neither of these methods will net you any real/noticeable HP increases. We're talking about 2hp tops. It doesn't get much better if you use the both the mid-pipe and back box either. Maybe 5hp if you are extremely lucky.

Personally I'd sell/return the Japspeed and look at the HKS Silent Hi-Power back box. It looks nice, is silent like OEM, but comes to life a bit more than the OEM when you floor it.

Some other guys might be able to also give you some feedback on the Blueflame exhaust systems, but I can tell you now the Japspeed is obnoxiously loud.

Well, I got it for sort-of cheap money, for a brand new one, so will give it a go, and see then. at the moment, I cant hear exhaust at all, so might be not that loud (mind that, my car is only 2.0 n/a engine) HKS one is ridiculously expensive, for what it is, I'd rather spend/invest some more in suspension.

But really thanks for a feedback on japspeed exhaust, will have a play with it on the weekend and see what setup I'll go for

I think the Blueflame is the best bet for you. It is noticably noisier than stock but no obnoxious in any way.

Was Supercharged Racing Green IS200 Sport. Now APR Stage 1 Seat Leon Cupra (220 Bhp).
