I had phoned about ten minutes after Leon had discovered this.. he was bouncing around fuming for ages .. I had to close my ears. Tisn't supposed to be bent .. even I know that.

We were definitely expecting wear and tear, 175000 miles is going to take effect and although regular, probably minimal servicing since it was BPU'd and first modded, would also have an impact. I was warned there would probably be some caked on cooked oil inside everything which would benefit from a good clean out and .. we weren't disappointed in that expectation. The discussions we'd had were that we'd take the time to strip the engine down and see what state it was in but we'd clean it up, replace what was necessary and put it back together as a 2JZ will take the mileage and we weren't going for major performance upgrades at this stage or even on this engine. What I wanted from this was longevity of this engine as I need time to save up and properly plan the next stage and I need this to last the few more years this is going to take me.

You are still seeing an orange supra in the background because .. it snowed again. I didn't get the car to JPS until mid January and then by the time they had stripped out the engine, gearbox, engine loom, bay loom, ABS, brake lines, servo, fuel lines, headlights, radiator, airconditioning, wiper assembly, side repeaters etc etc etc it had snowed again Sad So stuck with the car, they had begun to strip down engine while we waited for better weather.

Oh, the aerial. I like my cars to look even on each side, if one side has a sticker, the other must too. The aerial being on one rear wing really irritates me, so that came off and the holes were drilled for a new stubby one to go in the centre of the roof Smile

[COLOR="DarkOrchid"]That cut out on the rear windscreen rubber is really annoying, I have no idea whose bright idea that was to do but it succeeds perfectly in capturing water and flowing it around underneath the rubber. The windscreens were obviously coming out for the respray so I'd made a note to make sure this was not repeated when new rubbers were put back in. It's not even central for pity's sake lol

The front ogre teeth/washers have gone altogether. I don't mind the uniqueness of them on the UK models and as everyone gets rid of them one day they will be an asset to a rare UK spec left as standard ... but I can't cope with Dan moaning about them every time he sees my car .. so byebye shrek teeth [/COLOR]

Right so.. ignoring your questions completely for now.. JPS have done all they need to do to the shell.. and it's taking up space in their workshop. It's a pain to keep manually pushing it out of their way so the bodyshop kindly agree they will store it for us until they can start it. I'd missed my slot from two lots of bad weather and other projects were booked in who did keep their slot. It's a small bodyshop so it's vital with their overheads that they don't run too many simultaneous big projects and keep a flow of quick cash generating jobs going through and with the snow, there were plenty of them building up. It was kind of them to agree to store it, they'd have had the same problem of pushing it around although not to the same degree as JPS who need all their work bays active each day. [/COLOR]So, and I am not exactly sure why but, rear seats removed, headlining stripped, door seals removed .. she gets packed up with her new crossbar as MWB would weld that in, and her headlights in the footwell as they had been a stig to remove so we decided to take advantage of the bodyshops skills and get them to smooth out the Do_Luck so they fitted easily, off she trots on a supra approved carrier to the bodyshop
